Meet The Pack

Matt joined the Laughing Dog Team in March of 2018 and brought with him 7 years of commercial brewing experience.  He brewed for Idaho Falls Brewing before moving to Coeur d'Alene to continue his career with Slate Creek Brewing.  Having grown up on a 700-acre family farm in northern Wyoming, his passion for brewing began as a home brewer in 2004, which lead to his completion in 2011 of the Seibel brewing sciences course and the beginning of his commercial brewing career.  If he’s not on the brewing platform, you will find him fly fishing, playing hockey, photographing the beautiful outdoors, or whipping up something in the kitchen.

During the start of the 2nd microbrewery revolution, Evan was attending the University of Colorado where his craft beer interest was peaked! Gravitating toward the foundation of craft brewing and enjoying the creative styles, a brewer was born.  Returning home to New York, Evan was challenged trying to find the flavorful beers he had come to appreciate while living out West.  Until, he stepped into Southhampton Publick House and a 13 year career was born.  Looking to get back to the great outdoors, the Brewer position at Laughing Dog was the perfect fit.  “So, he loaded up the truck and moved to Sandpoint!” Evan, Becky and their 3 year old rescue Beagle haven’t looked back!  In addition to brewing, Evan has taken on the lead roll in the production/packaging side of the business.

After moving cross country and while exploring the Sandpoint area, Amanda and her boyfriend stumbled upon Laughing Dog.  While enjoying a beer, they met the “Lead Dog” and mentioned she was looking for work.  After a few visits, it became apparent this little pup belonged with the rest of this pack and so it began.  Amanda has worked in various areas of the brewery, just short of brewing!  She has had a hand in the accounting side of things, but you might also see her in the Tap Room covering a shift, working on the website and social media, or organizing the Mug Club. Throughout her time at Laughing Dog, she has gained a new appreciation for all the processes involved in making craft beer. Amanda spends her spare time with her boyfriend and their dog, Smokey, exploring the area and boating on the lake in the Summer.
